A custom made dolly for moving your Capri around the
workshop, paintshop when doing a restoration job.
I designed this and had it made especially when restoring
my MK1 Perana Capri.
As far as I can see there's no reason why it won't
fit any Capri as the locating holes used were the front
cross member and rear bump stop holes.
When the body shell was bare it was either put it on
static tressles or build a custom dolly. No contest.
You would not believe how easy it is to re-position
a Capri once this is fitted!
My painter was over the moon. The car sat at the right
height for painting and flatting. Also one person can
move the car dead easy due to the large heavy duty castor
wheels (with brakes).
I brought my car home on a flat back recovery truck
and just wheeled it into my garage. Then in 30 seconds
flat spun it 180 degrees using one hand - simples!
The dolly is an invaluable part or a serious restoration
workshop. I was tempted to keep the dolly, but space
is ever at a premium so it has to go.
These dollies should withstand 1500kgs.
Whilst designed for a Capri - maybe they would have
another application.
I didn't bother painting them after the job as I'm
just too busy.
Similar dollies with tiny wheels will cost you £150
a pair.
